Saadi Al Kaabi:
Contemporary Artist born in Najaf/Iraq held many solo exhibitions
and participated in several exhibitions in Baghdad, Paris, Rome, new
York, Moscow, Stockholm, Berlin, Prague, Beijing, Ankara, and all
the Arabic countries.
Education:
Diploma of fine art in 1960, Baghdad-Iraq.

1998 The international festival of plastic arts and graphics,
Mouscron, Belgium.
1990 The 3rd international European Asia biennale – Ankara, Turkey.
1986 The first biennale of Baghdad and the second in 1988, Baghdad –
Iraq.

1986 The first Cairo Biennial, Egypt.
1982 The 5th Triennial of India, New Delhi – India.
1981 Kuwait Biennial – Kuwait.
1980 Cagnes - sur - mer, festival, France.
1976 Venice Biennial, Italy.
Awarded the following prizes:
1998 Award of Excellence from the international festival of graphics
(MUSCRON BELGIUM).
1990 The 3rd Award of the 3rd international European Asia biennale –
Ankara, Turkey.
1986 The golden Prize of Dacca biennale.
1982 The Silver prize of the 5th triennial of India.
1981 The golden Prize of Kuwaiti biennale.
1980 The Honorable Award of Cagnes – sur – mer festival, France.
His paintings are displayed at the following museums:
New Delhi, Prague, Lisbon, Stockholm, Baghdad, Amman, and Doha.
Career Experience:
1981 – 1985 / Director of the theatre production in the cinema and
theatre foundation and theatre and he designed the decoration of
many plays and movies. 1985 – 1988 / Director of The Artistic
Culture in the ministry of Culture.
1985 – 1987 / founder & head of The Iraqi plastic art club.
1986 – 1990 / he was elected as a President of the Iraqi plastic
artists association.
1999 / he was chosen as a member of the international jury of Dacca
biennale - Bangladesh.
2004 / he was chosen as a member of the jury of Islamic art biennale
Tehran - Iran.
He also has a daughter and son
engaged in the art field
